From the Back Cover
Have you got an itch…
…to start you own business, go to the North Pole, retrain, lose weight, get promoted, learn to play the ukulele? Or do you just have a nagging sense that there must be more to life?
If there is something you really want to do, but secretly fear you’ll never do it, then you need this.
So scratch it
This is your kick in the pants.
To make your thing happen, you have to climb into the ring. You have to face your fears and move from talking to doing.
Of course, it’s right and natural to have fears, but understanding them will keep you on top. And then you’ll find that starting can instantly make things change. So say farewell to the status quo.
And that’s the trick, you see. Simply start somewhere. Anywhere. But do it now.
For those working for others or for themselves, for those in love or out of love, for those who are artistic or scientific, the busy and the clock-watchers… but mostly for those with ambition: This is what you need to start.
Waiting is futile. Starting is progress.

All my friends and family will be getting this for Christmas
By Paul Murphy
I was lucky enough to pick this book up in London before getting on a plane to NY. I loved it. Quick read. Fun, funny, and often thought-provoking. I generally hate these kinds of books, but the "Kick in the Pants" line got me to buy it, and I'm very happy I did.
Since I've been back, I've started taking judo lessons, learned to sharpen sushi knives, started giving classes in gnocchi rolling techniques, made my first three-piece suit, been sky-diving, and, of course, started my own Internet business. I'm kidding of course, but that's the way the book made me feel. I got off the plane thinking it was about time I got my act together.
Everyone I know will be getting a copy for Christmas, so I've gotten that monkey off my back. Not bad for late November.
Next time I'm in London I'm going to try to meet Shaa. She sounds amazing.

good one
By The Wiltshire Hare
Totally recommend this book. It's a short, fun read which draws on psychology, experience, the arts, doodles and some rather good writing to make its points. In many ways it reminds me of Paul Arden's book:" It's not how good you are , it's how good you think you are".
It's great to read a book in this genre by someone who's actually been trained to write like a journalist - complex ideas made immediately accessible.
Of course it can't do it for you. Only you can do that. But it's a kick in the pants in the right direction... just like it says on the cover...

Living proof
By Soho Speaks
This is my first online review, which is not only testament to how highly I rate this book, but also how it has turned me to a woman of action. First, the book is true to its word. It doesn't bog you down in theory and verbiage; it simply cuts to the chase with inspirational anecdotes and genuine wisdom. I was immediately hooked, tore through it and came out the other side remembering one simple lesson -- surprise people by actually making good on all of your plans. In other words, Stop Talking, Start Doing.
For a long time, I've had a blog formulating in my head, but for some reason, had not pulled the trigger. Within a week of finishing this book, I put pen to paper and now the the blog is up and running (shameless plug: [...]). Better yet, I approach every post as a new project that requires my full attention and action. This behaviour carries through so many parts of my life now and I really have this book to thank for it!
