My name is Danny Riley. I have worked on the trading floor of the CME for over 35 year running one of the largest desk in the S&Ps working with Tudor, Bacon, GLG, AIG, SIG, SocGen, Merrill prop, GS prop, you want more? But most of all I have been Marty The PITBULL Schwartz's guy on the floor for the last 25 years. I still talk to Marty everyday. Part of what the PITBULL taught me was to follow historical patterns. He showed me the Stock Traders Almanac over 20 years ago and it has been part of my daily trading tool box ever since.
I was not asked to write this and nor am I paid to write this but I am a 100% believer in STA. The Stock Traders Almanac has been very accurate over the years but it has Killed it this year. Unless you have a high priced historical data base there is no other product out there that gets even close. I don't care if it comes as a book , in a binder or in a file.
The Stock Traders Almanac is a great tool and should be part of every traders tool box.

An Indispensable guide to the markets, an annual ritual for serious investors

Every year I get my copy of the Stock Traders Almanac and I spend the first few weeks combing through it to remind myself of the indefatigable cycles and seasonality of calendar.
"There is a rhythm," as my friend and colleague Jeff Hirsch teaches and to ignore it would be akin to a farmer ignoring the weather patterns that ought to govern his actions and planning throughout the year.
I got my copy of the Almanac two days ago and I've already plucked out six important trends and factoids that I'd have never been aware of on my own. Don't deny yourself the opportunity to learn, as I have, from this wonderful text.

Great for the inexperienced investor

I am not a seasoned trader or investor. In fact as a rabbi, I often rely on others to do all the work for me when it comes to this world. However this book is the only book on the subject that I have been able to understand and use to my advantage as a novice. Jeffrey Hirsch does such a great job explaining terms, trends and all pertinent information not only for the experienced savvy trader but for beginners like me. Thank you for this great yearly piece of work.
